2020 Dodge Charger Widebody

If you are into muscle cars, I mean really into high-end horsepower machines then the upcoming 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody is charging right up your alley! At Salsbury's CDJR in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, we can't wait to get our allotment of these race rockets into our hands to see if these speed demons meet our high expectations. Here's what we know so far.

The 2020 Widebody Dodge Charger Engine

The 2020 Widebody Dodge Charger is outfitted with the Supercharged 6.2L Hemi SRT Hellcat V8 engine. It brings 707 Hellcat horses to life and torque at a 650 lb-ft max. This V8 rocket engine is married to a TorqueFlite 8HP90 8-speed automatic transmission, which is able to handle all those horses and tame that torque!

Bigger Everything on the 2020 Widebody Dodge Charger

Everything about the Widebody Charger is bigger and better. So much so that Dodge had to widen it by 3.5 inches. Bigger engine and transmission. Bigger and beefier front and rear sway bars. Bigger Brembo brakes and calipers-front and rear. Bigger, thicker suspension to handle the bigger horsepower and torque specs. Bigger everything. This beast even has four doors.

Suspension. The springs on the 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody are 35% stiffer than the standard Charger. And the swaybars are thicker: 2mm thicker in front and 3mm thicker in the rear.

Brake power. Dodge upped the braking ante for the Widebody's brakes. 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rear calipers make sure you can tame the speed of this racer when you need to.

Wider Tires. Prior to the 2020 Charger Widebody, the fattest tire a Charger could accommodate was a 275-millimeter width. The 2020 Charger Widebody comes with Pirelli P-Zero 305/35ZR20s. These rubber monsters assist the beefier suspension to grip the road better and tame the lateral acceleration to .96g.

But How Fast Does the 2020 Widebody Dodge Charger Go?

I can hear you banging your fist, demanding, "C'mon, how fast does it go!?!" Hold on, it's worth the wait. Before I get into the top-speed and quarter-mile numbers, the 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody comes with some nifty speed gadgets that I know you'll love.

Launch Control and Launch Assist on the 2020 Widebody Dodge Charger

Want massive rubber-burning power to impress your friends and vanquish your enemies? Dodge gives you Line Lock, Launch Control, and Launch Assist.

Line Lock lets you smoke the competition by applying only the front brakes, allowing the rear wheels to spin freely. Launch Control and Launch Assist allow you to blast off without any wheel hop. Your smoke-show and rocket-powered launch will leave onlookers speechless.

OK. OK. Here's How Fast the 2020 Widebody Dodge Charger Is

Now for the speed specs. The Charger Widebody flies from 0 - 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and does the quarter-mile in just under 11 seconds-10.96 seconds to be exact. And, its top speed is a heart-stopping 196 mph!
